You may have heard it gets cold in Minnesota, but we have four beautiful seasons, which means you're never at a loss what to do outside. Depending on the weather conditions, you can go cycling, skating, skiing, swimming or running, and you may even have to go skiing or swimming.
Just 40 miles from campus, the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul offer a lot of things students can do. Although I visit both cities several times a year, most students find their way to Northfield in just a few days, but there are several ways to get there from Northfields, such as by car, train, bus or bus.
The winter walk, which takes place on the first Thursday of December, offers visitors the opportunity to spend a day shopping by candlelight in the heart of Northfield and enjoy a variety of other activities. Planning, "which takes place on the last weekend in May and June, and the annual Winter Festival, a three-day festival of music, food and entertainment.
St. Olaf College was founded in 1874 on the western outskirts of the city by Norwegian Lutheran immigrants, pastors and farmers who were interested in preserving their faith and culture. On the way home, however, they drove past St Olaf's and it seems they had discovered that Northfield was the perfect escape. My father is a St Olde alumni, so it seemed a great opportunity to find out how Northfields was like an escape for them.

And the quick way from Northfields to the Twin Cities was to take I-35 south of MN / 19 to exit 69 and go west on Minnesota-18 and then north on MN + 19 to Minneapolis.
If you are planning to visit one of the two colleges in Northfield, consider staying on the property and making the most of your trip here. For outdoor sports lovers, the Minnesota State Fair, the University of Minnesota - Duluth and the Twin Cities National Park are all worth a visit.
